Italian design is told in immersive environments with LoveIT Detroit
What the Metaverse will be in its entirety and how it will affect our lives is still hard to say. At WEDOO we have been experimenting with it for quite some time, so when the Italian consul in Detroit asked us to design something innovative to promote Italian design in the United States we took up the challenge.
The customer
The Italian Consulate in Detroit (whose perimeter spans Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee) has among its tasks the promotion of creativity, innovation and products of Italy in the United States.
The project
The client asked us to bring Made in Italy excellence to the Metaverse for LoveITDetroit, the event dedicated to Italian participation in the Detroit Month of Design, which enlivens the American city every September. The event brings the story of Italy that makes Fashion, Food and Wine, Furniture and Mobility to the productive heart of the United States through exhibitions, meetings and promotional activities.
The challenge
Enhance the digital experience of a strategic made-in-Italy event through a dedicated website and Metaverse Experience of the event for the 2022 and 2023 editions.
Satisfying textures and volumes
3d artists have reinvented real space and made it digitally usable through an experience that can be enjoyed from anywhere on the planet.
Exploration through avatars
Visitors can access the meta-event by exploring the exhibition areas with their personalized avatar.
2022
The Metaverse opens up to art
With LoveITDetroit 2022 we opened the metaverse to art, hosting digital twins of 13 masterpieces exhibited in the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome. The virtual exhibition - created by our team of designers, developers and 3d artists - celebrates one year of BeIT, the worldwide campaign dedicated to Made in Italy promoted by ITA - Italian Trade Agency and relaunched by the Consul of Italy in Detroit.
